Throughout the area in bright sun in open areas. This is the first flower to bloom. | ||

Not far behind in time, this is an early bloomer. Found on one Northern facing hill overlooking south shore of Henry's Lake. Beautiful very small plant. | ||

Bluebells in a family called Mertensias is among sagebrush on Meadow VueRanch,overlooking Henry's Lake near the RV Park. Most specimens are 2 to 3" tall. MORE | ||

Found 6 miles west of RV Park, near Red Rock Pass at about 6870 feet near Idaho/ Montana border in wet area among Glacier Lilies. Also in Meadow #1 near RV Park. MORE (Claytonia lanceolata) | ||

In Meadow #1, only two specimens in bloom today, also called Sugarbowls or leatherflower. MORE On June 29th, see the final stage of this flower here as a wispy silvery flowerhead. (Clematis hirsutissima) | ||

In Meadow #1, the bloom is not yet fully developed but a few specimens are blooming. Very small plant.(Lithophragma glabrum) MORE | ||

Grandfather's Beard, Prairie Smoke are other names. I found this early bloomer directly above the south side of Henry's Lake. Soon it will be all over the place, but now it is rare. (Geum triflorum) The later seed head is also very attractiive. Once the seed head is gone, the flower is still giving. | ||

Hidden under other plants, this small but beautiful plant was found in Meadow #1. Only a few specimens at this time. The flower hides under the large leaves. (Hydrophyllum capitatum) | ||

On the trail up to Meadow #1 next to Aspen Tree this one specimen was found. (Disporum) | ||

A beautiful plant that accents the meadows with bright red stalks. Only a very few specimens starting now in the ranchland pasture next door. | ||

A cluster of very small flowers at the tip of a pretty leafy plant. Only a couple specimens so far in Meadow #1, but will soon be in the forest across the street. (Smilacina racemosa) See later specimen that is more mature. See seed stage Aug 3. | ||

I will include mushrooms that I find though they are technically not wildflowers, but still very interesting flora. This one (Aleuria aurantia) was in meadow #2 (above #1) under aspen trees in a very damp location. I also found this high in the forest across from the RV Park. | ||

These interesting "Cladonias" are a type of fungus with stalks that resemble golf tee's. They were found in meadow #1 next to the Orange Peel Mushroom under trees. | ||

Resembles the Liberty Cap mushrooms (covered with ice here) about 3" tall, found along RedRock Road next to the RV Park hidden in the grass. | ||

This tiny plant was found at Mile Creek, MT (about 23 miles from the RV Park under other larger plants) along the creek. | ||

Similar to Cushion Phlox. Appears in a low leafy mat with many flowers. This was the only flower in bloom in the mat so far. This mat was the only similar specimen in meadow #1 that I could find. | ||

A very tiny beautiful blue and white flower on a long stalk.. In meadow #1, only specimen in the area that was blooming. (Collinsia parviflora) | ||

A cup like brown mushroom blooming in the darker part of the forest floor in meadow #1. The only specimen in the vicinity. | ||

This flower was found across the street from the RV Park, up in the forest. This is the pre-blooming state of the meadowrue. This is a particularly colorful specimen. | ||
