Today the Western Virgin's Bower bloomed. It's on a vine in the forest across from the RV park. Very delicate and beautiful. (Clematis occidentalis ) MORE The Seed stage is pretty, appearing in late August. |

Found in the Meadow Vue Pasture next to the RV Park, this larger variety of the Buttercup stands tall among the Dandelions and Camus. MORE |

Hybrid White Mule Ears. |

The white mule ears are shown next to this hybrid (cream) between a yellow version of the mule ears and the white version. They appeared in a bunch below meadow #1. The only such hybrid in the area. MORE |
Silky Lupine. |

Although I've shown the Lupine above, this is the more mature (not quite, notice it unfolding as it goes from top to bottom). Soon it will form fields of purple flowers. This appears to be a low-growing specimen of the Evening Primrose. This bloom only lasts a day. Found a couple specimens in Meadow Vue Ranch next to RV Park today. (Oenothera villosa) |
Pale Yellow Paintbrush. |

This plant has started popping up all over the area in the last week in small numbers. It prefers dry areas and rocky soil. It is also called 'Western paintbrush'. (Castilleja occidentalis) |

Beautiful small clumps of rose colored bracts found in meadow #1. There were a few specimens, see a bouquet here (Antennaria microphylla) |
Polypore Shelf Mushrooms. |
|
|
These mushrooms appear to be related to a species called wood polypore. They have no stalks and attach to wood. These were attached to a felled aspen along the second forest road just west of the RV Park. |
Narrow-leaved Collomia. |

Tiny pink flowers at the top of this plant are beautiful accent to all the other flowers in the Meadow across from the RV Park. (Collomia linearis) MORE |

Found in the shade of the forest across from the RV Park along with 3 or 4 other specimens. This is part of the Orchid Family. It has no cholorphyll and grows from the decayed remains of other plants. MORE (Corallorhiza striata) |
